Hi! 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello.

I'm a yoga teacher incorporating mindfulness into my classes. I have my own regular mindfulness meditation practice, and am self taught from all the books by Jon Kabat Zinn - Saki Santorrelli, and many others. I collect them! However I have no formal training other than Yoga. I know the routes that Bangor have - not sure I want to go down a lengthy and expensive route - but would still like to have more formal training. Is there anything out there on-line or distance apart from Bangor? Anything not to heavy that I can help me to incorporate into a yoga class setting? Thanks.

Hi Simone

I don't have any good training info for you, but I am interested to hear how you're integrating mindfulness into yoga. When I practice yoga in a class setting, I feel like often too busy pushing myself in particular poses to remain very mindful. I'm single minded, because I'm working the pose, but I don't consider them the same states of being.

I almost think that one of these days in class I should just use the modified, easier forms of the poses and just settle in and try to really be mindful. It's tough tho- I always find myself competing. Maybe it's the guy in me, but I have a feeling that it's the same for women

Thanks
-Tony
